NJ Type Cylindrical Roller Bearings

NJ type cylindrical roller bearings are designed to carry high radial loads while providing axial location in one direction. The bearing uses two fixed flanges (ribs) on the outer ring and one fixed flange on the inner ring.

These flanges guide the rollers accurately, preventing them from drifting axially and ensuring smooth, controlled rotation. The outer‑ring double flanges hold the rollers in position, while the single inner‑ring flange provides axial location in one direction. This allows the bearing to act as a locating bearing on the fixed end of a shaft, controlling axial movement without increasing friction.

NJ bearings are widely used in gearboxes, compressors, pumps, electric motors and general industrial machinery where one‑direction axial control is required. They are commonly paired with NU bearings on the free end of the shaft to accommodate thermal expansion.

Transpower Drives supplies a full range of NJ cylindrical roller bearings from our Wellingborough, Northamptonshire facility, supporting engineering, maintenance and OEM customers across the East Midlands and the UK.
